He tames them for serving his needs . He pets them for ploughing his farms, getting milk and getting meat for food . Animals are being used in order to carry out scientific experiments on them in the field of medical researches . These innocent animals go through such torture, cruelty and pain which they cannot even express .
They are kept into zoos, in insufficient space or in small enclosures, and these animals go round and round in the cage to show their impulsive and restless state . Is it not the cruelty ? In the same manners, birds and some animals are put in cages or kept in chains in order to sell them as pets . Birds or animals feel happy and contended when they are free in their natural habitat rather than being in golden cages or silver chains.
Stray animals like cows and dogs can be seen on the heaps of dumped garbage, under polythene bags . All this chokes their intestine and causes their death . Is it not cruelty to animals ? Animals too have strong emotions and feeling ; they too feel pain of any sort . We should be sensitive to their emotions . Parents should teach their children how to be kind of animals . Even in schools, the authorities should introduce the lessons based on our kind behaviour towards animals in order to sensitize the students about them . We all should pledge not be cruel to the animals . Animal Protection Law should be enforced and the people who are responsible for cruelty to animals, should be punished under the law .
Cruelty in any form is bad . It is immoral . It is a sin . There can be no two opinions about it . But do we ever think how we treat our animals ? Do we ever think what our life would be if there were no animals ? Where do we get the leather for our shoes ? Who gives us wool for our clothes ? How do we get our meat keep them underfed . We load them with tons of weight .
And when they grow old, we leave them on the road to starve to death or to be killed in an accident . All this is a matter of shame . We often see overloaded animals being cruelly beaten by their owners . But we never stop to prevent them for doing so . We see acts of cruelty being done before our eyes , but we lack the moral courage to stop it . This is as bad as being cruel . This is a society known as SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) . We should not only become its members, but also work actively to stop cruelty to animals in any form . And those who indulge in it, should be dealt with severely according to the law . There are certain laws which prescribe fine as well as imprisonment for those who are found treating animals cruelly . These laws must be strictly enforced .
